  • Wizz Air is set to become the first European ultra-low-cost carrier to offer Starlink internet on its flights.
  • High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi will be available to passengers from 2027, with installation beginning next year. All new-generation Wizz Air aircraft are expected to be equipped with Starlink regardless of route or destination.
  • Starlink, operated by SpaceX, is a satellite internet service that delivers fast broadband using a low Earth orbit.
  • Passengers using Starlink will enjoy “high-speed, reliable, low-latency internet at 30,000 feet”, according to the airline.
  • Wizz Air added: “For years, high-quality onboard connectivity was treated as a luxury perk for premium tickets. Wizz Air is flipping the script by selecting Starlink to bring aviation’s most advanced connectivity solutions to the ultra-low-cost segment.”
