Wolves chairman Jeff Shi is in Madrid for talks with Julen Lopetegui.
The sacked Sevilla coach is Wolves' first choice to replace Bruno Lage after his dismissal last week.
BBC Sport says Shi has traveled to Spain to meet with Lopetegui and discuss a move to England.
Shi touched down yesterday and talks are continuing today with Lopetegui.
Wolves hope to appoint the Spaniard as new manager before the weekend.
