Wolves are in advanced talks with Queens Park Rangers manager Michael Beale after identifying him as their No 1 target to become their next boss.

The struggling Premier League side sacked Bruno Lage at the start of the month and following defeat to Crystal Palace on Tuesday night, it is understood that efforts to deliver Beale as the next head coach at Molineux are gathering pace.

The Championship side, who currently sit sixth in the table, are expected to face a fight to keep their manager amid talk of a release clause, and it is thought Beale will take charge of the Rs for one final time tonight, when they take on Cardiff City.

He is then expected to link up with Wolves on Thursday morning, says the Daily Mail.

Beale is viewed as 'an exciting, progressive appointment' that would be a diversion from their recent hires.
