Wolves are ready to make Burnley defender Nathan Collins the most expensive Irish footballer of all time.

Collins, who was part of the Clarets side that was relegated to the Championship at the end of last season, is set to move to the Molineux Stadium club.

According to the Irish Independent, Wolves are ready to pay Burnley €24 million for Collins.

That would make him the most expensive football transfer involving an Irish player in history.

Collins has been linked to other Premier League sides as well this summer.

However, it appears Wolves have won the race for his signature, while Burnley boss Vincent Kompany will use the funds to sign new players for his squad.
