A woman and her two daughters were killed as a fire broke out due to a gas leakage from a domestic cylinder in a shop in Rajasthan’s Beawar district on Sunday, police said.

The incident occurred at Kancha Udawata village in the Relra gram panchayat, where the fire erupted in a kitchen set up in a shop.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as Manisha, 28, and her daughters Naviya, 8 and Pallavi, 5.

Sendra SHO Hariram Jat said the fire broke out when Manisha went to the kitchen to prepare tea. As she switched on the gas, flames suddenly erupted due to leakage from the cylinder.

The blaze spread rapidly and engulfed the entire kitchen, leaving the woman and her daughters with no time to escape, he said.

Police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a mortuary.

Locals tried to douse the fire before a fire brigade brought the blaze under control, police said.
