Woman among held for drug abuse in Ranau

RANAU: Two people, including a woman believed involved in drug abuse were arrested recently.

In the first case, Ranau IP Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJN) has successfully arrested a 37-year-old local man on suspicion of being involved in drug abuse activities in the district.

Initial urine screening test results have found the suspect positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine. The case is investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

In the second case, BSJN arrested a 34-year-old local woman on suspicion of being involved in drug abuse activities in an operation carried out here.

Initial urine screening test results found that the suspect tested positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine and was detained for further investigation under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Ranau IPD will continue to tighten operations and monitoring to combat drug abuse.

The community is advised to cooperate with the authorities by providing information related to drug activities.
