KINABATANGAN: A woman and a five-year-old boy were seriously injured after a Proton Saga collided with a Toyota Hilux Revo at Kampung Jaya Baru, Jalan Bukit Garam, this afternoon.
The 44-year-old woman suffered a severe head injury and a broken left leg, while the boy sustained head trauma and fractures to his left arm and leg. Both were trapped in the vehicle but rescued by passersby before firefighters arrived.
Four other Proton Saga passengers sustained minor injuries. All victims were taken to a nearby hospital in two ambulances. The Hilux driver and passenger were unharmed.
Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue chief Nurul Azlan Shah Jamalludin said they received the emergency call at 2:44 PM and arrived on scene 11 minutes later. The operation concluded safely by 3:39 PM.
