
- Linda Hall, 64, has been charged with causing death by careless driving following an incident at Silverlink Retail Park in North Tyneside.
- The charge relates to the death of 81-year-old retired teacher Rita Grimshaw, who was involved in a collision with a vehicle on December 22 outside a Marks and Spencer store.
- Mrs Grimshaw was taken to hospital after the incident but sadly died the following day.
- Her family described her as a devoted mother, proud grandmother, a teacher for over 30 years, and a "true pillar of the community."
- Linda Hall, of Seghill, Northumberland, is scheduled to appear at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on August 14.
