
PETALING JAYA: A 40-year-old woman was killed after the car she was driving plunged into a river near Jalan Lahar Kepar Penaga in Kepala Batas, Penang this morning.
A spokesman for the Penang fire and rescue department said their operations centre received an emergency call at 7.39am.
“Our personnel from the Kuala Muda and Butterworth fire stations were despatched and arrived at the scene of the incident 10 minutes later.
“The victim, Siti Hawa Isa, 40, was found dead at the scene. Her body was removed at 9.55am and handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement.
