A WOMAN was tragically killed after the four-wheel drive vehicle she was travelling in with two companions was swept away by flash floods at Second Bridge in Kampung Pulai on Thursday evening.
Superintendent Sik Choo Foo, District Police Chief of Gua Musang, confirmed that authorities received reports of the incident at approximately 10.30 pm.
The vehicle, a Toyota Hilux, was carrying a local man, a Thai woman, and the Indonesian victim while en route to the KLC Plantation.
“While passing through the area around 8.30 pm, a sudden flash flood struck, sweeping their vehicle away. The local man and the Thai woman managed to escape, but the victim was believed to have been carried off by the current,” he stated in a press release on Sunday.
The victim’s body was later discovered at 4.15 a.m. on Friday by local residents on the riverbank, about one kilometre from where the vehicle was initially swept away.
She was taken to Gua Musang Hospital, where a post-mortem confirmed drowning as the cause of death.
Superintendent Sik urged the public to refrain from speculation and to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.
The incident underscores the hazards posed by sudden flash floods in rural areas and serves as a stark reminder for motorists to exercise extreme caution during severe weather. - November 23, 2025
