A FEMALE car salesperson lost her life after the Perodua Myvi she was driving collided with a palm oil-laden lorry along Kilometer 50 of Jalan Pantai Kuala Terengganu–Permaisuri near Kampung Telaga Putat yesterday evening.

Setiu District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Zain Mat Dris reported that the accident occurred at approximately 6.11 pm, claiming the life of 32-year-old Tuan Nur Amirah Tuan Azhar from Kampung Pak Kancil Luar.

She was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the collision.

“The incident is believed to have occurred when the victim’s Perodua Myvi, travelling from Kuala Terengganu towards Pasir Puteh, Kelantan, crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Hino lorry coming from Pantai Penarik, which was transporting palm oil to Kampung Rahmat,” Mohd Zain said in a statement today.

The crash left the front of the victim’s car completely crushed, while the lorry overturned. The 41-year-old lorry driver escaped without injuries.

The body of Tuan Nur Amirah was taken to the Forensic Unit of Setiu Hospital, and police have launched an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
