Woman ‘drug pusher’ held in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Police arrested a 21-year-old local woman, suspected involved in drug trafficking activities in this district.

District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said, the woman was detained by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division following Op Tapis at Reno Fajar areas, here, on Saturday.

He said during the operation, the team spotted the woman who was in suspicious condition.

“Upon inspection, the team discovered nine translucent packets containing substances believed to be Syabu weighing 5.15 grams and aluminium foils.

“The suspect was taken to Lahad Datu Police Headquarters. Urine test conducted on the suspect found she was tested negative for drug abuse,” he said, adding that the seizures were estimated worth RM566.50.

Dzulbaharin said, the case would be investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

He added that the operation reflected Lahad Datu Police Headquarters commitment in combating drug criminal activities in this district.
