Kota Kinabalu: A woman was fined a total of RM500,000 for 50 counts of producing fake bank statements to the Sabah Education Department to get contracts worth millions of ringgit for supplying cooked food to hostels and schools in several districts in the State.
Sessions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat meted out the sentence to Rita Pangeran, 33, who changed her plea and pleaded guilty to the alternative charges against her on Monday.
The court also ordered Rita to pay RM10,000 in default five months’ jail for each charge.
