The victim, Zaharullail Basir, 52, worked as an operations executive at a bank.

Kota Setar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Syed Basri Syed Ali, said at 8.45 am today, police received a call from the victim's son informing them of a murder involving his mother.

The victim is suspected of being stabbed in the body, in addition to being hit on the head.
