
Kota Kinabalu: A woman was killed and her passenger injured after a 40-foot container lorry ploughed into their Bezza along Jalan Lintas, here, Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Nicolette Hannah George, 26, was with her 44-year-old friend who had just arrived from Kuala Lumpur on Monday when the accident happened at 6.15pm.
The deceased’s father also arrived at the scene moments after being alerted.
City Police Chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the accident also involved a Shell lorry tanker, a Proton Iriz, a Myvi, a Saga and a Vios.

Read more The passenger, who sustained injuries to her legs, said she had just arrived from Kuala Lumpur on Monday night.
“My friend (deceased) took me out to Donggongon in Penampang for a meal and she was sending me back to my hotel in Inanam when the lorry suddenly crashed into our car from behind,” she said.
All the other car drivers, coming from the Lido direction, sustained slight injuries.
The 52-year-old container lorry driver said he had been on the road for two days, having driven from Sibu, Sarawak on Monday and only arrived in Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday.
It took firefighters more than one hour to extricate the body from the wreckage. Kota Kinabalu traffic Investigating Officer Inspector Farhana was at the scene to investigate.
