A WOMAN in her 50s was killed after the four-wheel drive vehicle she was travelling in collided with a tanker lorry in Sandakan on Friday.
The victim has been identified by the Fire and Rescue Department as Same Hebo.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said its personnel managed to free the woman, who was trapped inside the 4WD following the 9am mishap at Mile 18, Jalan Sandakan.
“Paramedics from the Health Ministry confirmed the victim had died at the scene.
“The body was later handed over to the police for the next course of action,” said the spokesman.
He added that the 40-year-old lorry driver was unhurt and the operation ended at 10.26am.
