SANDAKAN: A 51-year-old woman was killed and two others injured after a Proton Saga crashed into a tree outside Livingston Hotel on Jalan Utara, Sandakan early Tuesday morning.
Fire and Rescue received the emergency call at 6.01am and arrived three minutes later to find all three victims trapped in the vehicle.
The deceased, identified as Siti Madina Hassan, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The driver, Shahrul Mohammad Basri, 26, and a female passenger, Janebabe M Macabio, 27, were injured and taken to Duchess of Kent Hospital for further treatment.
The operation ended at 7.10am after firefighters secured the area.
