A WOMAN’S attempt to earn extra income through a part-time online job ended in a RM52,235 loss after she was deceived by a fraudulent offer, police said.

Setiu District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Zain Mat Dris, said the 43-year-old victim visited a website on 23 October and was offered an online position selling branded items.

“She would receive a 50 per cent profit from the sales,” he explained.

Mohd Zain said the victim was required to make an upfront payment to secure the job and subsequently transferred a total of RM52,235 across four different bank accounts.

The victim realised she had been scammed when no profits were received and lodged a police report yesterday. - November 14, 2025
