
Kota Kinabalu: A 29-year-old woman was ordered to enter her defence on a charge of committing criminal breach of trust involving a sum of RM246,027.80.
Sessions Court Judge Ummu Khaltom Abdul Samad made the order against Nirazanah Jabin after ruling that the prosecution had established a prima facie case.
The court set Oct 24 for Nirazanah's defence.
Nirazanah is accused of breaching the trust given to her as a chief cashier who was entrusted with the daily sales collection belonging to the Chua Kah Seng (CKS) Supermarket Sdn Bhd, Lok Kawi branch.

Read more She allegedly committed the offence at 10am on Oct 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 22, 2018 at the CKS Supermarket in Lok Kawi.
The offence under Section 408 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between one and 14 years, and whipping, and liable to a fine, on conviction.
The prosecution had called nine witnesses during the hearing.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Siti Hajar Mazlan and Dpp Atiqah Nazihah Azmi appeared for the prosecution while counsel Goldam Hamid defended Nirazanah whose bail was extended.
