A shocking incident unfolded in Gelang Patah, Johor, when a 34-year-old Bangladeshi woman allegedly injured her lover and cut off his private part after discovering he was still married to his wife back in Bangladesh. The act, believed to have been driven by jealousy and betrayal, has left the 33-year-old victim hospitalised and the woman in police custody.

According to Iskandar Puteri police chief M. Kumarasan, the incident was reported around 10.45 a.m. after a local resident informed authorities that a man had been injured by his girlfriend at Kampung Lokan. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect flew into a rage upon learning that her partner had concealed his marital status. Despite being in a romantic relationship with her, he had reportedly not divorced his wife in Bangladesh.

Police said the victim was rushed to Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Bahru, where he is receiving treatment. Officers later apprehended the suspect around 12.15 p.m. the same day. A 29-centimetre knife, believed to have been the weapon used by the woman was recovered at the scene.

Police have obtained a five-day remand order against the suspect, effective until October 13, to facilitate further investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt, which carries a potential prison term of up to 20 years along with whipping or a fine. She also faces an additional charge under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for illegal stay in the country.

The incident has drawn public attention for its nature, highlighting the dangerous consequences of jealousy and emotional breakdown. Authorities continue to probe the case to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the act.
