THE main suspect in the case of the discovery of a woman's body in a bag buried behind an empty house in Kampung Batu 4, Pedas, Rembau, has been remanded for seven days starting today until December 26.

The remand order was granted by Magistrate Nurul Farha Sulaiman to allow further investigation to be carried out under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Earlier, the 53-year-old suspect arrived at the Magistrate's Court at about 9.45am.

Yesterday, Negeri Sembilan Deputy Police Chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said the man was arrested in the Genting Sempah area, less than 24 hours after the arrest of another suspect in Melaka yesterday.

Another suspect, aged 41, who is now remanded for a week, is believed to have a close relationship with the second suspect, thus leading to the arrest of the man.
Previously, the police had asked for the public's help in locating a woman who had been reported missing since December 8.

Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Khairul Anuar Khalid said that his department had received a report of the disappearance of Suri Narudin, 53, from the woman's immediate family.

It is understood that the woman was scheduled to leave abroad on December 9, but had not been contacted since the day before. – December 20, 2025
