In recent yeare, many renowed car brands, especially from China, have entered the Malaysian market, offering modern vehicles at affordable prices.
This incident involving a Chinese-made car has raised concerns about vehicle reliability.
A car owner shared her experience of her car stalling on the highway, even though the fuel gauge showed a remaining range of 60km.
"The meter still showed about 60km remaining, but it suddenly dropped to zero," she explained.
As the fuel range plummeted, the car rapidly decelerated and the steering locked, posing a significant danger on a busy highway.
Luckily, she guided the car to the emergency lane, preventing an accident.
She expressed concern about the danger if the car had stalled in the far-right lane, leaving her unable to move to safety and putting herself and others at risk.
Her experience has raised doubts about the brands reliability, with other owners reporting similar issues of unexpected stalling despite the fuel gauge showing enough range.
Netizens have criticised the brand for the inaccuracy of its fuel meters, comparing it to unfavourably to other manufactures whose vehicles provide more reliable fuel range estimates.
Many have called for better quality control and improvements to ensure the safety of drivers on the road.
