- A woman on a family road trip in the Australian outback was trapped for three hours in a sewage pit after the floor of a long-drop toilet collapsed beneath her.
- The incident occurred at the Henbury Meteorites Conservation Zone, 145km southwest of Alice Springs, dropping her almost two metres into the waste.
- With no phone signal, her family was forced to drive an hour to the nearest town to find help, leaving her alone in the pit.
- A passing tradesman eventually rescued her by dismantling part of the toilet, lowering a tow rope, and using his vehicle to pull her out.
- She sustained only minor cuts and was taken to hospital, with NT WorkSafe now investigating the incident as a 'dangerous incident'.
