- Diana Warren, 55, from Essex, discovered she had a significant heart defect, an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), after collapsing during a bike ride in June 2022.
- The defect, a hole in her heart the size of a two pence piece, had gone undiagnosed for over five decades despite her active lifestyle.
- After initial attempts at keyhole surgery were unsuccessful, Ms Warren underwent open heart surgery in April 2024, during which she also received a pacemaker.
- Now recovered, she is preparing to cycle 54 miles from London to Brighton on 21 June for the British Heart Foundation, alongside her brother and sister-in-law.
- Ms Warren is fundraising to give back to the British Heart Foundation, acknowledging the vital support they offer to individuals with heart conditions.
