A gathering was held at the Congress’ office in Tarn Taran on Wednesday, where several women, including Anita Verma, joined the party after leaving the Aam Aadmi Party.
Welcoming them into the party, halqa in-charge Karanbir Singh Burj honoured them with ‘siropas’.
Addressing the gathering, Burj claimed that women did not feel safe in the Aam Aadmi Party.
He further alleged that incidents of murder, theft, dacoity and robbery were taking place in broad daylight in Tarn Taran, while the Punjab Chief Minister was not paying attention to the situation.
