LABUAN: Vocal and long-serving Chairman of the Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Datuk Wong Kii Yii, is considering to contest the post of President of Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce, if there is sufficient support.
This follows after incumbent President Tan Sri Andrew Liew Sui Fatt made known his decision not to defend the post in the chamber elections scheduled next month.
Wong, who is Vice President of SUCCC, said: “I have been persuaded to go for the post but will only make a decision after consulting and seeking advice from all 25 chambers in Sabah and Labuan.”
Wong said the post was a challenging one and he needed the support of all to ensure he could continue the good work of the predecessors.

If Wong were elected, he would be the second Chairman from LCCC to hold the post. Tan Sri Wong Chik Lim from here held the post previously.
