Former Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward could be 14 million richer if the club is sold.
The Red Devils are officially up for sale, with the Glazer family mulling over bids from several suitors.
Woodward, who resigned last year and was succeeded by Richard Arnold, was instrumental in the Glazers taking control of the club in 2005.
The Athletic has reported that Woodward does own 551,486 shares in United.
If the club is sold to Sheikh Jassim of the Qatari royal family, then Woodward would gain around 26 a share.
Other shareholders would also profit, as the Qataris are hoping to buy 100 percent of the club.
