A sharing by the Ministry of Works (KKR) on its official social media accounts was largely met with scepticism from Malaysians recently after the Ministry shared how they implement permanent repairs for potholes on the road.
In the post on TikTok and Facebook, KKR shares that they employ 2 methods when it comes to patching potholes on the road, which are temporary and permanent fixes.
KKR shows how they permanently fix potholes on the road in just 40 minutes
From the video, KKR showcases how a permanent fix for potholes is implemented, which the Ministry claims only takes 40 minutes to complete.
The video then details the process from start to finish, with workers diligently at work to fix a pothole at an undisclosed road.
Notably, for permanent fixes, KKR cuts and digs a small section of the road where the pothole is located before patching it.

Malaysians cast doubt on the video
In the comments section, many Malaysians expressed their scepticism at whether permanent fixes portrayed in the video are a common practice in our country.
One commenter sarcastically said that in Malaysia, the 2 methods of patching a pothole on the road are actually:
- Record a video and follow the correct SOP
- Not record a video and do it lackadaisically
Meanwhile, another commenter told KKR not to deceive the people, as they have all seen how the Ministry actually repairs potholes.
Besides that, one commenter from Sabah sarcastically said that this technology must not reach East Malaysia yet as the roads are terrible in the state.
