Traditions by Keluarga (Family) Ishak often include with deep heartfelt prayers for the deceased, thanking Allah SWT for the blessings of 'Eid Mubarak' and delicious meals, in strengthening our family and community bonds for social harmony. This year the gathering was hosted by Haji Abdul Manaf Ishak & Hajah Raziah Dato' Ahmad together with their children at home in Shah Alam. The highlights included bermaafan (seeking forgiveness) and enjoying the traditional Perak food. As celebrations conclude, the focus shifts to practice the lessons of patience, charity, and togetherness into the rest of the year.
I enjoyed watching a 3-generation family gathering bridges grandparents, parents, and children to share traditions & create lasting memories. As usual, grandparents share family history, heritage, values, memories with the younger children. This event shared meal preparation of cooking traditional family recipes together to pass culinary skills down through the generations. The best is capturing everyone together in nice outfits of this growing family tree.

Ishak Family originating from Perak, particularly from Kuala Kangsar has deep historical roots, holds a significant place in the development of the Royal Town, culture, and social structure. Perak's history as one of the oldest hereditary sultanates in the Malay states means that traditional families possess strong ties to the Sultanate's founding, its governance, and its aristocratic linages & roles. Perak saw early influence of the Malay archipelago community.

I was born in Teluk Intan, originally known as Teluk Anson, and raised in Taiping. However, I lived for one decade in Kuala Kangsar when working with a start-up textile manufacturing plant jointly owned by Toyobo Co. Ltd., and Kanematsu Gosho Ltd. I witnessed the ground breaking ceremony of the first ever international investment corporation in Kuala Kangsar Industrial Estate under the government initiative of bringing industrialization to the rural areas.
I learned Perak, being referred to as Darul Ridzuan (Abode of Grace), and its historical families are key to understanding the state's traditional institutions.
