Departing Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness admits they've had direct contact with Leroy Sane.
The Manchester City attacker was expected to sign for Bayern this summer before breaking down with a knee injury in the Community Shield. Sane has since undergone surgery.
"We had contact, yes," confirmed Hoeness, though didn't wish to go further.
Hoeness has announced he is leaving Bayern.
Germany coach Joachim Low believes Sane will be back in training in January.
