Liverpool legend John Barnes understands why the Reds did not sign more players this summer.
Many pundits and fans were surprised when Liverpool did not make any significant summer signings.
However, Barnes knows that it is not easy to add the right kind of quality to a team that is already at such a high level.
Barnes told the Daily Mail: "Not at all [disappointed at their summer business], I don't think there is anyone out there who can come into the first team. You could say you could get someone to supplement the squad.
"Just look at Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and even Tottenham, they needed signings to go into the first XI but we don't.
"There is no one out there who is going to take the spots of the front three or the midfield three or the back four."
