Real Sociedad are pushing to sign Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal today.
The Daily Express says Real Sociedad want to push through a rapid deal for Monreal so he can make his debut on Friday night.
The Spanish club have offered Monreal, 33, a two-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, and Arsenal will let the Spaniard return to his home country if he wants to go.
But Sociedad were trying to accelerate the deal as of Monday evening, because they want Monreal signed in time to play in the Basque derby against Athletic Bilbao on Friday.
Sociedad are aiming to complete the deal today to enable the full-back to fly to Spain to train with the team on Wednesday and Thursday and be ready for the crunch La Liga fixture.
