Xavi has urged Barcelona's management to try to re-sign Simons back from PSG.
In that case, the idea would be to loan Simons from PSG with a purchase option. But the French giants do not appear to want to sell the 21-year-old.
Simons has scored nine goals and provided 15 assists in 42 competitive games on-loan for RB Leipzig this season.
His contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2027.
