
The Xpeng G9L has been revealed as a global five-seat flagship with up to 585 PS, 805 km of CLTC range and both electric and range-extender options.
XPENG has revealed the first official images of the G9L, a large SUV described by the Chinese carmaker as its global five-seat technology flagship.
Its positioning as a global model makes the G9L a possible candidate for the large Xpeng SUV reported to be heading to Malaysia during the second half of 2026. However, Bermaz Xpeng has yet to confirm which model will be introduced locally.
Despite its name, Xpeng has not officially described the G9L as a direct replacement for the existing G9. Both the G9L and 2026 G9 are currently listed separately on the company’s Chinese website.

The five-seater shares its core platform technology with the six-seat Xpeng GX, but adopts a sleeker roofline and a more dynamic exterior design.
Chinese homologation documents list the G9L at 5,120mm long, 1,999mm wide and between 1,782mm and 1,795mm tall, depending on specification. Its wheelbase measures 3,100mm.

Xpeng says the G9L will introduce AI-powered seats designed to adapt to occupants of different body types. It will also receive a major upgrade of the company’s second-generation Visual-Language-Action system for its advanced driver assistance functions.
The G9L uses an 800-volt electrical architecture, with Xpeng claiming that suitable fast charging can add as much as 450km of range in nine minutes. Complete specifications have yet to be officially announced, but Chinese regulatory filings indicate that both fully electric and range-extender powertrains will be available.

The rear-wheel-drive EV uses a 270kW electric motor, equivalent to 367PS. The all-wheel-drive version adds a 160kW front motor to the 270kW rear unit, giving it a combined output of 430kW, or around 585PS.
Battery options comprise 91.9kWh and 110kWh packs, with CLTC-rated ranges spanning from 672km to 805km depending on the battery, drivetrain and specification.
The range-extender version uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 110kW, or around 150PS, as a generator.

The rear-wheel-drive model receives a 210kW electric motor, equivalent to 286PS, while the all-wheel-drive version combines a 160kW front motor with a 210kW rear motor for a total of 370kW, or around 503PS.
Both use a 63.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. The rear-wheel-drive model offers 350km of pure electric range under the WLTC cycle, while the all-wheel-drive version is rated at 325km.
