Virgil Van Dijk hopes that Liverpool can make a habit of winning trophies.

The Reds picked up their first silverware of the campaign after defeating Chelsea on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup.

The Champions League winners bested the Europa League champions in midweek.

And Dutchman van Dijk hopes it is the start of many trophies over the next few years.

"Hopefully it will be a nice habit [of winning trophies]," the centre-back told Liverpoolfc.com after the game.

"It was tough, they played well [and] we had moments of playing well as well. I think it was a great game to watch as a neutral spectator, but overall we're all very happy that we won the penalty shootout and take the cup with us."
