In a moment of pride for the country and Haryana, Prikankshit Mor, a young achiever from the state who is currently serving as Manager, Global Engagement at York University, has been conferred the Rising Star Award-2026 by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE).
The honour was presented during a grand ceremony held at University of British Columbia, Vancouver, recently, in the presence of distinguished academicians, education leaders and professionals from across Canada.
The Rising Star Award is among the most respected recognitions in Canada’s higher education advancement sector and is awarded to exceptional early-career professionals who demonstrate extraordinary promise, leadership, innovation and professional excellence.
Mor, who belongs to Yamunanagar, has achieved the remarkable distinction within just two years of his professional career, an accomplishment considered rare and extraordinary in the competitive global education sector.
His contributions to the areas of global engagement, international partnerships, alumni relations, strategic communications and advancement services have earned Mor widespread recognition and admiration.
According to the CCAE, the award recognises individuals who have shown outstanding commitment toward strengthening educational institutions through innovative leadership and impactful engagement strategies.
“This year, Prikankshit Mor and Jordan Shirakawa of Southern Alberta Institute of Technology were selected for the award,” said Prikankshit’s father Pritam Singh Mor, former Joint Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Haryana.
Prikankshit Mor’s achievement reflects not only professional brilliance but also an outstanding academic record. He is an alumnus of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi), where he was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for Project Excellence in recognition of his exceptional academic and research capabilities.
Further strengthening his global credentials, Mor completed his MBA with distinction from reputed Schulich School of Business Toronto in April 2024.
His academic journey showcases a unique combination of technological expertise, managerial excellence, strategic thinking and global vision. Prikankshit Mor belongs to a distinguished family known for its contribution to public service and education in Haryana.
His father Pritam Singh Mor has earned immense respect during his long and distinguished service in the Excise and Taxation Department. His mother Dr Manisha Mor is serving as an Associate Professor in the Higher Education Department, Haryana, and has contributed significantly to academic development and student mentorship.
