
HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim. King of Malaysa, paid an official visit to two advanced technology centres belonging to the United Arab Emirates’ premier defence conglomerate, EDGE Group, underscoring growing engagement between Malaysia and the UAE in the defence and technology sectors.
According to a post on the Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the visit formed part of His Majesty’s Special Visit to the UAE, which began yesterday.
His Majesty first arrived at NIMR, located at the Tawazun Industrial Park in Abu Dhabi, where he was received by EDGE Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al Marar.
Sultan Ibrahim then listened to a briefing presented by EDGE President of Platforms and Systems, Khaled Al Zaabi, on the company’s capabilities and technological developments.
NIMR is a high-performance military vehicle manufacturer based in Abu Dhabi and operates as one of the key entities under the EDGE Group.
Following the visit to NIMR, Sultan Ibrahim proceeded to CARACAL, another EDGE subsidiary, where he was welcomed by Chief Executive Officer Hamad Al Ameri. CARACAL is a leading manufacturer of small arms and defence weaponry.
During his visit to CARACAL, His Majesty demonstrated his marksmanship skills by firing a CSR 308 sniper rifle at the 100-metre shooting range.
The visit highlighted the UAE’s advanced defence manufacturing capabilities and reflected the Agong’s keen interest in modern military technology and strategic industries during his official programme in the country. - December 24, 2025
