Yayasan MR D.I.Y. is ending 2025 on a high note, delivering a year of high-impact community initiatives across the country. Over the course of the year, the Foundation channelled close to RM1.5 million into 250 programmes, reaching more than 300,000 beneficiaries - reinforcing its position as one of Malaysia’s most active community-driven organisations.

Built on trust and familiarity MR D.I.Y. Malaysia has earned over the past two decades through its network of more than 1,400 stores, Yayasan MR D.I.Y. continues to translate the brand’s close relationship with Malaysians into meaningful, people-first initiatives that deliver tangible outcomes.

A key highlight of 2025 was the continued expansion of the Foundation’s flagship STEM Discovery on Wheels programme, which has now engaged over 200,000 children nationwide. The initiative - one of Malaysia’s largest privately driven STEM outreach efforts - partners with the Perlis State Education Department, District Education Departments, the Museum Department, and the National Science Centre to bring hands-on STEM learning directly to underserved schools and communities, sparking early interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The Foundation also strengthened its humanitarian outreach beyond Malaysian borders. In collaboration with the final Malaysian Battalion under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), MALBATT 850-13, Yayasan MR D.I.Y. distributed 9,600 STEM kits to children across 48 districts in Lebanon, supporting education continuity in communities affected by conflict. This contribution marks one of the Foundation’s most significant global outreach initiatives to date.

Locally, the Foundation continued to respond with compassion and agility. In a meaningful gesture of solidarity, the senior management of MR D.I.Y. pooled their RM100 SARA allocations to purchase essential MyKasih items, which were donated to Home of Hope, a transit home operated by the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) for cancer patients in Chow Kit. Their collective action demonstrated a culture of empathy and reinforced the belief that impactful social responsibility begins with personal commitment.

Yayasan MR D.I.Y. also provided swift relief to communities facing hardship - delivering essential items to flood victims in Jeli, Taiping, and in East Malaysia, donating 100 new chairs to Hospital Duchess of Kent, Sandakan and supporting 100 families affected by severe floods in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

To close the year, Yayasan MR D.I.Y is rolling out its annual Christmas CSR programme, including a special visit to the School in Hospital at Rehabilitation Hospital Cheras. The initiative aims to bring joy and encouragement to more than 50 paediatric patients through gift-giving, interactive activities, and festive engagement - ensuring children feel supported even while receiving treatment away from home.

“The strength of Yayasan MR D.I.Y. lies in the trust and close relationships MR D.I.Y. has built with Malaysians over the years,” said Zaleha Mohd Mydin, CEO of Yayasan MR D.I.Y. “This connection enables us to understand community needs more deeply, respond swiftly, and deliver initiatives that create real and measurable impact - locally and internationally.”

With an extensive national presence, a strong brand foundation, and an expanding portfolio across education, community development, and humanitarian support, Yayasan MR D.I.Y. continues to set a benchmark for people-centred corporate social responsibility in Malaysia.
