
Kota Kinabalu: The Yayasan Sabah Group (YSG) will organise the Silam Coast Conservation Area (SCCA) Scientific Survey Seminar and SCCA Research Direction Workshop 2027-2036 from Sept 8 to 10 at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu.
The opening ceremony is expected to be officiated by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Joniston Bangkuai. The programme is set to bring together more than 80 participants, including representatives from research institutions, government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
The programme aims to strengthen protection and development efforts at the SCCA and its surrounding areas based on scientific research. The area is rich in biodiversity and high-value natural resources, and holds vast potential for the ecotourism sector.
In line with this, the Group remains committed to ensuring that the SCCA’s biodiversity treasures are preserved and sustainably utilised for future generations.
