
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Wildlife Department (SWD) will use findings from Yayasan Sabah’s Resource and Wildlife Survey to enhance enforcement against wildlife crimes in Sabah, particularly within Yayasan Sabah’s conservation areas.
Sandakan Wildlife Officer Hussein Muin stated that the SWD may also consider revisiting existing laws and regulations related to enforcement based on the survey results.
AdvertisementHe highlighted the importance of wildlife surveys and scientific research findings, where various methods are employed to determine the status and population of wildlife species, in accordance with the Wildlife Conservation Enactment and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
