While Samsung’s mobile devices like their smartphones, smartwatches and tablets are typically known for their OLED screens, this was something they didn’t really do when it comes to their TV space. Instead, OLED TVs were always more of an LG and Sony thing, as Samsung preferred to focus on developing their QLED or Quantum Dot display technology instead.
Well that ends today because Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) has finally launched an OLED TV here, and it’s simply called the Samsung OLED (S95B). This new 4K Smart TV will come in two sizes, 55″ and 65″, and will feature Samsung’s new Neural Quantum Processor 4K. Samsung claims that this AI processor will automatically upscale whatever’s on screen to 4K, which is something we’ve seen Samsung do before on their TV models to what I think was great success.

It’ll also allow for gaming at 4K 120Hz refresh rate and the TV features four HDMI 2.1 connection points. Built-in audio features Dolby Atmos technology that’s enabled by a dedicated multi-channel TV speakers around the screen (four at the top and four at the bottom). It’ll also work with Samsung’s Q-Symphony that allows you to add a soundbar and complement the whole sound system.

Compared to Samsung’s recent pushes in the TV space, like the Samsung The Frame and Samsung The Sero TVs, the Samsung The OLED—sorry, just Samsung OLED, may look a little bit boring, but those who don’t want their TV to stand out might enjoy the more minimal looks. Samsung says it has minimal bezels and a slim flat back which allows flush-fit wall-mount solutions, but I have to say that if we’re talking about minimal, it’s kind of hard to beat LG’s Wallpaper TV.
Nevertheless, this new TV is available for pre-orders in Malaysia starting from the 21st of November 2022 to the 4th of December 2022. The TV is priced at RM10,499 for the 55″ model and RM14,499 for the 65″ model. Customers who pre-order will receive a HW-Q600B soundbar for free worth RM2,599.
