Good news for Malaysians receiving Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA).

A one-off RM100 SARA assistance has started to be credited to eligible recipients from Monday, Feb 9.

Now in its second year, the programme has been expanded to cover more categories of essential items, giving recipients more flexibility in how they use the aid for daily needs.

More items are now allowed compared to last year

Previously, SARA only covered 14 categories of basic necessities.

Under MyKasih 2026, the approved list has been expanded to include frozen food and ready-to-eat meals.

This means recipients can now use their MyKad to buy a wider range of food items, including frozen chicken, duck and quail, as well as breaded or battered chicken products.

Popular items such as burgers, nuggets, meatballs and sausages are also allowed, along with frozen meat, fish and other seafood.

Ready-to-eat frozen meals are also part of the expanded list, making it easier for recipients to prepare quick and convenient meals at home.

Overall, the expanded categories reflect a more practical approach to daily living, especially for those who rely on frozen or ready-to-eat food to save time and manage household expenses.
