Award-winning Malaysian actress, Michelle Yeoh, recently opened up about how she felt like a failure due to her not being able to have her own children. She also shared how she came to terms with that hardship with BBC presenter, Nuala McGovern, during a Woman’s Hour segment.
“I always wanted to have children. It didn’t happen, so I went and did fertility (treatments) to aid in the process. And, I think that the worst moment to go through is every month, you feel like such a failure, because that’s…” Michelle dragged.
“There comes the blood, so it means (pregnancy) hasn’t happened, yeah,” Nuala assisted.
“And then you go, like, why? You know? What did..? Why is this..? And I think at some point, you stop blaming yourself and go, you know, there are certain things in your body that don’t function in a certain way. That’s how it is. You just have to let go and move on,” Michelle added.
Nuala then asked the 62-year-old actress how she managed to move on from such a heartbreaking scenario and how long that took her.

“Sometimes, honestly, I still think about it. It took a long time because, that also, maybe, would be the main factor that broke up my first marriage,”
“These are conversations that you really have to have with yourself and be able to look ahead and think, yes, we love each other very much now, but in 10 years or 20 years, I still can’t give him the family that he craves for. And you have to be fair. That’s why this dialogue between a couple is so important,” she explained.
