It's January 1st, we're having breakfast at Ruko's by Brawa Beach Bali and we wish you a Happy New Year 2023.

On the first day of the new year, we walked to our favourite coffee joint Ruko's on Brawa Beach Road for a cup of coffee and a late Aussie style breakfast.

We have been doing this  every morning since we moved to Brawa Beach Estate staying with our friend at Latina Villa for the last two weeks of our vacation here.

In fact, Ruko has been one of our favourite for all the years we have been to Bali. It's only about 200 metres from La Tina Villa at Brawa Beach Estate.

Ruko is a modest set up. It's located in a low rise building on Brawa Beach road diagonally across from a giant size beach club,The Atlas which opened in July 2022.

A little further down is a smaller and less obtrusive and more tastefully designed Finns Beach Club that we prefer.

Ruko's clients are mostly Australians and probably those who are in Brawa for the sun and surf. They are young 20 or 30 somethings, tattoos on their bodies, slim muscular and tanned with six packs stomach.

What do we eat at Ruko's? Smashed avocado with poached eggs on toast. Or pitaya bowl of blended purple coloured dragon fruit with some granola and fresh fruits. It's served cold. I love this bowl since I developed gassy stomach eating too much turkey on Christmas Day. It's soothing.

Earlier on we had their excellent "to die for" pancakes. The portions are Australian size and quite big for us. Very often we ended up sharing every dish ordered. Sometimes we even have to take home half of our meals. But they are delicious though.

One morning I ordered potato crochet and poached eggs. They are huge. Even an Australian at the next table remarked that they are humongous. It was a struggle to finish one of these delicious potatoe balls served with poached eggs. The breakfast filled me up till dinner time.

We'll miss daily walk to Ruko and their great breakfast when we leave Bali after two wonderful weeks of fun in paradise!

Ruko is opened daily 7.30 am to 4 pm. Jl. Pantai Berawa No.99, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
