A furious Donald Trump tore into Benjamin Netanyahu over the phone last night as he tried to bring Iran back to the negotiating table.
The President demanded the Israeli Prime Minister call off a series of strikes against Lebanon after peace plans were left hanging by a thread.
Israel had been poised to bomb Hezbollah terrorists in the country - but Iran's negotiating team then walked away from negotiations, saying they would only return if the Israelis stopped.
Extraordinary accounts of the phone call between the two leaders have now come to light, including the claim Mr Trump bellowed: "Everybody hates you now... Everybody hates Israel because of this," at his ally.
One American official told Axios how Mr Trump warned Israel would be left isolated around the world if it kept up its attacks on Hezbollah.
Two sources said the President claimed he had helped keep Mr Netanyahu out of jail amid his long-running corruption trial.
"You're f***ing crazy," Mr Trump is believed to have told the Israeli leader.
"You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."
A second source briefed on the call told the same outlet how Mr Trump was "p***ed" - and at one point shouted: "What the f**k are you doing?"
Then, Israel backed down - with the Jewish state thought to no longer be planning strikes on Hezbollah in Beirut, the Lebanese capital.
Publicly, both callers scrambled to issue calm statements - Mr Trump said talks with Iran were ongoing at a "rapid pace".
"I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu today, asking him not to conduct a major raid on Beirut, Lebanon," he said on Truth Social.
"He turned his troops around. Thank you, Bibi!" he added.
Mr Netanyahu said his position remained the same: He would attack the terror group in Beirut if it failed to stop attacking Israel.
Though a US official claimed that in reality, Mr Trump had "steamrolled" the Prime Minister down the line.
"Bibi said: 'OK, OK, just make sure everything is taken care of,'" according to the official.
Later, the President admitted there had been a "little glitch today" - but added that he had "turned that one around very quickly, as you probably noticed earlier," he told ABC News.
He went on to reveal an agreement with Iran to finally secure peace and reopen the Strait of Hormuz could come within the next week - a plan which received a crucial lifeline from the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The President has proposed to move Iran's enriched uranium out of the country, which the IAEA revealed was "difficult but not impossible" to achieve.
