A fan at the Malaysia Masters recently experienced a humorous interaction with world number one badminton player Viktor Axelsen.
After Axelsen secured the championship at the Super 500 tournament, a hopeful fan commented on the Badminton Association of Malaysia’s Facebook post, sharing their disappointment about not receiving Axelsen’s racquet.
The fan wrote, “Just now Viktor Axelsen saw me. I wanted his racquet but he said no to me. I never had such bad feelings being turned down by a MAN. Please respond to me.”
Axelsen, known for his wit both on and off the court, replied, “Bro, do you think I’m Yonex Santa?”
His cheeky response quickly garnered laughs and reactions from other fans.
Axelsen won the men’s singles final at the Malaysia Badminton Super 500 tournament against Malaysia’s top men’s singles player Lee Zii Jia, with scores of 21-6, 20-22, 21-13.
