Deputy Minister of Communications and former Deputy Minister of Education, Teo Nie Ching, has reiterated her firm stance on handling sexual misconduct allegations involving school staff.
In a strongly worded Facebook post, Teo stated, “You touch, you GO!”, emphasizing that immediate action must be taken to remove the accused from the school environment, regardless of whether a formal conviction has been made.

Teo explained that during her tenure at the Ministry of Education, any complaint involving sexual assault by a staff member was met with swift intervention.
She said immediately removing the accused from school grounds was a non-negotiable step.
A school should be a safe space where students can learn without fear,” she wrote, adding that accused individuals should have no further contact with minors until proven innocent.”
While acknowledging concerns over the rights of the accused, Teo argued that student safety must come first.
She said it was a basic expectation from parents and a core responsibility of education authorities to act protectively and decisively.
Her remarks come amid increased public scrutiny over how schools handle allegations of sexual misconduct, following the recent Foon Yew High School case.
