A Texas man named Alvaro Jeronimo Juarez has been sentenced to 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole for sexually assaulting four young girls.

Assistant District Attorney Dana Nazarova, one of the lead prosecutors on the case, acknowledged the long-lasting impact this crime will have on the victims and their families. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg emphasized the importance of vigilance on the part of adults in a child's life.
Predators like Juarez use lies, deception, and tricks to get close to children, she said. She expressed her satisfaction with the conviction, stating that Juarez had stolen the childhood of these girls. The sentence, she believes, appropriately punishes him by ensuring he serves every day of his 40-year term without the possibility of parole.
