Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah has launched an initiative to introduce children aged 13 and below to entrepreneurship and leadership.
MCCC Sabah President Datuk Dexter Lau said succession planning should begin before young people enter university or the workforce, particularly for children from business families.
Launching the Next Generation Entrepreneurs Organisation’s (NGEO) inaugural workshop at Hakka Hall here Saturday, he said early exposure could build confidence, communication skills and lasting professional connections.
About 30 children attended the members-only Mid-Autumn Snowskin Mooncake Making Workshop, where they learnt to make mooncakes while calculating ingredient costs, prices and profit margins.
Lau urged business organisations to move beyond traditional networking and invest directly in future leaders through programmes addressing the needs of younger generations.
