Growing up, Astro probably witnessed plenty of drama in your house. And we don’t just mean the shows.
Someone wanted cartoons, someone wanted football, and someone was insisting their drama was “almost finished”. The remote? Basically the most powerful object in the living room.
Now that you’re older, Astro has something else for its customers to get excited about: an exclusive internship opportunity.
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Astro has launched the Astro Family Internship Programme, exclusively for Astro customers and their eligible family members.
Yep, the name you grew up seeing on your TV could end up on your CV.
Your next plot twist: going behind the scenes
If your current routine involves opening internship listings, staring at them and telling yourself “I’ll apply later”, here’s one to bookmark and actually apply for.
The programme offers three-month internships, with placements available between February and July 2027.
You’ll get the chance to work alongside industry professionals and discover what happens behind the scenes of a media and entertainment company.
Think hands-on experience, new skills and a clearer idea of what you might enjoy doing after university.
Because “I’ll figure it out after graduation” does start feeling a little too real eventually.
More into coding than content? There’s room for that too
You might hear “Astro internship” and immediately think cameras, studios and TV shows.
But plenty happens beyond the screen, and the programme covers a range of business areas, including:
- Content
- Marketing
- Communications
- Software Engineering
- Data & Analytics
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Legal
- Procurement
So whether you’re the friend who always has a content idea, enjoys making sense of numbers or actually understands code, there are different areas to explore.
You’ll also get a broader look at how the business brings entertainment, sports, news and digital services to Malaysians.
Suddenly, watching TV at home might come with a bit more “ohhh, so that’s how it works”.
Astro celebrates 30 years by giving back through internship opportunities
For young adults figuring out their next step, the programme offers a chance to explore their interests, pick up practical skills and get a feel for working life.
According to Astro Chief Marketing Officer Christinne Lim, the programme is a gesture of appreciation for families who have made Astro part of their everyday lives.
The aim is to help young adults gain real-world experience, explore their interests and build confidence before stepping further into working life.
Here’s when to send that application
